Decodum ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our text message analysis service.

Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address when you sign up
• Conversation Content: Text messages you submit for analysis
• Context Information: Relationship type, emotional state, and other context you provide
• Writing Samples: Optional samples to help personalize response suggestions

Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns
• Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
• Analytics: We use PostHog for privacy-friendly analytics

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve our text analysis service
• To generate personalized response suggestions
• To build context across conversations in the same thread
• To detect and respond to crisis situations (see Safety section)
• To improve our AI models and service quality

AI Processing

Your conversation content is processed by AI models (OpenAI) to provide analysis and suggestions. We do not use your personal conversations to train AI models. OpenAI's API has a zero data retention policy for our usage tier.

Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS)
• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• You can delete all your data at any time from Settings
• You can export all your data at any time from Settings

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as you maintain an account. When you delete your account or use "Delete Everything" in Settings, all your data is permanently removed from our servers.

Safety Features

For your safety, we automatically detect messages that may indicate crisis situations (e.g., self-harm). When detected, we provide crisis support resources. This processing happens in real-time and is not stored separately.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use PostHog for analytics, which sets cookies to understand how you use our service. You can opt out of analytics cookies.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Children's Privacy

Decodum is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
