How Decodum works
Decodum helps you understand text conversations and respond thoughtfully — without manipulation, judgment, or pressure.
It's not a dating coach. It's not a therapist. It's a calm, neutral perspective when you need one.
Four simple steps
01
Paste the conversation
Copy and paste text messages — a few exchanges or a longer thread. You don't need to format them in any special way.
Names can be real or changed. Partial conversations work fine.
02
Add a little context
Answer three quick questions:
- • How long have you been talking?
- • What's the relationship?
- • How are you feeling about it?
This helps the analysis understand what's relevant to you.
03
Get a calm breakdown
Decodum analyzes the conversation and gives you:
- • A neutral summary of what's happening
- • Patterns that stand out
- • Multiple interpretations (not conclusions)
- • A grounding reminder
You'll have the full picture without someone telling you what to think.
04
Decide what's next
From here, you can:
- • Think it over
- • Analyze another message
- • Get help drafting a response (optional)
- • Save the thread for future reference
There's no right answer. You're always in control.
What the analysis includes
Every analysis follows the same calm, structured format. No scores. No red flags. No anxiety-inducing metrics.
Big Picture
A neutral one-paragraph summary of what the conversation seems to show. Written without absolute language or assumptions about intent.
"The conversation is warm and friendly, with consistent back-and-forth. Plans have been discussed a few times but haven't been confirmed yet. There's no clear sign of disinterest, but some uncertainty around next steps."
What Stands Out
Three to five observations about patterns in the conversation. These are observations, not judgments.
- • Response times are generally quick during evenings
- • They ask follow-up questions, suggesting engagement
- • Plans stay open-ended without specific dates
- • You've initiated the last three conversations
What This Could Mean
Multiple possible interpretations of what's happening. We're explicit about uncertainty — no one can read minds.
"This could mean they're genuinely interested but busy with other things. It might also suggest hesitation or uncertainty about moving forward. Without more context, both interpretations are reasonable."
Grounding Note
A reminder that text analysis has limits, and direct communication often matters more than interpretation.
"Text messages can be easy to over-analyze. If something feels unclear, it's okay to ask directly — or to give yourself time before responding."
Help drafting a response
If you want, Decodum can suggest a few ways to reply.
These are suggestions, not scripts. They're meant to sound like something you'd actually say — not a template.
You choose a general tone:
- • Direct & calm — Clear, straightforward
- • Low-pressure — Easy, no expectations
- • Thoughtful — Warmer, more open
Then you'll see 2-3 options. Copy one directly, edit it, or just use it as inspiration.
Direct & calm
"Totally get it — would you want to pick another day so we don't keep missing each other?"
Low-pressure
"No worries at all. Let me know when things calm down."
Thoughtful
"I like talking with you. Let me know what works on your end whenever you know."
You're always free to say something completely different — or nothing at all. The choice is yours.
Patterns over time
Some conversations are one-off moments. Others are part of something ongoing.
If you save a conversation thread, Decodum can track it over time. Future analyses will consider previous messages for context.
This helps you notice patterns you might miss in the moment:
- • How communication has shifted
- • Recurring themes or behaviors
- • Whether things feel more or less consistent
Saving is optional. You can always analyze without saving, and delete anything at any time.
What Decodum doesn't do
We're clear about our boundaries. Decodum is designed to help with communication clarity — nothing more.
We don't:
- • Tell you what someone is "really" thinking
- • Score or rate your relationship
- • Suggest manipulation tactics or timing games
- • Provide therapy or mental health treatment
- • Promise outcomes or predict what will happen
- • Share your conversations with anyone
We do:
- • Show you what we observe, not what to conclude
- • Present multiple interpretations, not certainties
- • Respect your agency to decide what to do
- • Prioritize your privacy and emotional safety
If you're looking for someone to tell you what to do, Decodum might not be the right fit.
If you're looking for clarity and space to think, we're here.
